Heritage and Legends: Keepers of Arctic Secrets
In the folklore of the Sakha people, the image of the “Chuchuna” has been surrounded by stark mysticism for centuries. The elders passed down stories about “wild men” clad in raw skins, who suddenly emerged from the mists of mountain passes and from the depths of the taiga.
Legends attributed to them superhuman speed, the ability to give a piercing whistle that struck awe into travelers, and the skill to vanish silently among the rocks. The history of Yakutia remembers dramatic moments of confrontation between two worlds in the extreme conditions of the North. A misunderstanding of their secluded way of life gave rise to frightening myths about “forest demons” who stole game, women, and children, and attacked camps and livestock.
However, a different truth hides behind this halo. Ethnographers (such as I.S. Gurvich) confirm: behind these “mythical beings” were real people – the last representatives of ancient Arctic tribes who chose complete isolation from civilization, preserving unique survival skills.

- Years of Experience: We have been working in the tourism industry since 2013. Over this time, we have accumulated vast experience in organizing expeditions and tours in the most challenging conditions of the North.
- Specialization: We organize active recreation, hunting, fishing, and scientific-educational trips throughout the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). For school groups, we provide a full package of documents and hold a license for the transportation of children.
