“Buluus” is a unique underground water source that forms ice fields of clean fresh water, which do not melt even on the hottest days. In some years, the ice thickness in July reaches up to 3 meters. The place is quite popular among tourists. The ice kingdom seems like pure fantasy on a hot summer day among green grass and tall coniferous trees. And in winter, even in severe frosts, outlets of water appear on the surface of the blue ice, spreading over the ice and freezing. All these permafrost phenomena evoke amazement and delight in their beauty.
✨ What makes it special?
- 🧊 Buluus Glacier in summer heat — non‑melting ice up to 3 meters thick among green grass and coniferous trees (even in July).
- 💧 Kuruluur waterfall cascade — deep rapids and rocky banks of the Mende river, where you can swim and take photos.
- ⛰️ Sacred rock Turuuk Khaya — an 80‑meter vertical cliff, “Lena Pillars in miniature”, one of the most revered places in Khangalassky ulus.
- 🚢 Lena River ferry crossing — a mini‑journey on the ferry with views of the great river, an essential part of the route.
- 🌲 Contrast of ice and taiga — an ice kingdom that looks like fantasy in the middle of a hot summer day.
- ⏱️ One‑day format — perfect for a short adventure — departure in the morning, return by 9:00 PM, maximum impressions without overnight stays.
