Recommended list of tourist equipment for hiking and mountain trekking. Personal and group.
Personal equipment:
- A backpack with a hard back and a waist belt (for girls no less than 90 liters, for men no less than 120 liters). Transport case for backpack.
- Sleeping bag (2-layer, synthetic filler). Comfort temperature -5 or less!
- Foam (polyurethane foam mat).
- Foam (for sitting).
- A mug, bowl, spoon, knife – a must for everyone!
- Personal first aid kit: medications for you personally, adhesive bandage, elastic bandage, insect repellent, sunscreen.
- Documents: passport, compulsory medical insurance policy – pack in sealed packaging.
- Headlamp (with a spare set of batteries).
- Camera.
- Toiletries (soap, towel, toothbrush…), notebook, pen, tape, needle and thread, spare plastic bags, plastic bags for small garbage.;
- Shoes: Good hiking boots – sneakers are not suitable!
- Replaceable shoes: slippers, sandals, light sneakers. Neoprene socks.
- Woolen or polartek socks (for overnight stays) – 2 p.
- Trekking socks (high, tight-fitting to the leg) – 2 p.
- Change of underwear.
- Swimsuit
- Wind and waterproof pants and jacket
- Walking pants (convenient if the pants have detachable legs) are wind and waterproof.
- Thermal underwear (leggings and jacket down)
- T-shirts – 2 pcs.
- Woolen hat.
- A warm sweater or fleece (it is much lighter in weight and dries easily).
- Warm jacket or vest.
- Rain cape (this is an important point, the cape must be strong).
- Headgear: Panama, scarf, cap or bandana.
- Sunglasses
- Tourist and work gloves (for working around a fire).
- Matches in sealed packaging are a must for everyone!
- Rain cover for a backpack (option: insert a large plastic bag into the backpack + all things in bags). You can use both.
- Trekking poles, gaiters.
- Plastic bottle 0.5 l as a flask for water.
- Toilet paper, wet wipes, garbage bags (useful both for their intended purpose and for packing wet/dry things separately from each other).
- False flare, pepper spray, special means for protection against aggressive animals (optional).
- Wading boots for wading.
If your personal belongings take up more than 2/3 of your backpack, just leave some of your things at home.
There should be room in the backpack for public equipment and food.
Group equipment:
This equipment is provided by the company on all tours. You don’t need to take it with you!
This list may change for different tours depending on the category of difficulty of the route, its location, as well as the features of a particular tour.
